Restoration Program
Over twenty years experience in the areas of restoration of 1950 through 1969 BMW motorcycles.
For individuals who want Concourse level originality and accuracy in every detail, used original parts and an inventory of NOS are available, as well as researched newer design replacement components.
Crankshaft Services
Short-Block Service for /2 and /3 includes removal and inspection of: timing gears; camshaft; flywheel; crankshaft; and all related components. Also includes cleaning of slingers, measurement of rod big-end clearance and re-assembly. Gaskets, seals and bearings additional.
Long-block Service for /2 and /3 includes all components of short-block service, as well as in-situ inspection of: heads; valves; cylinders; pistons; and rings. Complete re-assembly of crankcase components as well as top end, and Bench Tune (valves set and engine timing adjustment) to factory specifications.
Wheels
Safety depends on the quality and condition of your wheels and brakes. Replace those wheel bearings, they are probably older than you are! Get rid of those tin cups and felt washers. Upgrade with new bearings, double lip seals, respoked wheels. We can re-cut the braking surface of your hubs to give a brake surface which is flat and concentric to the axis of your wheel.
- New bearings with upgraded double-lip seals to keep the grime and water on the outside and the wheelbearing grease on the inside where it belongs.
- Disassemble wheel, sand blast hub, and re-spoke, lace and true with new, stainless steel spokes and nipples. This includes setting up the bearing 'package' and installing into your hub.
New chrome steel rims are available - $250 each.

Where does it all stop?
- With modern brake linings and aluminum rivets. All assembled on freshly sandblasted shoes for $90 per wheel. Or, $70 per wheel exchange.
Stop inhaling asbestos dust with every wheel service or tire change: chuck those old brittle linings! The improvement in braking, especially in combination with truing your hub, will positively astound you!
If your wheelhub is being re-spoked (see Complete Wheel Service below), we will include turning your drum to give you a new braking surface which is flat and concentric to your wheel axis for only $50 each additional.

Includes: all new bearings; seals; new brake linings; brake drums turned; stainless steel spokes and nipples; sandblasting of hubs, shoes, and backing plates to a Like New appearance; Wheels trued; and brake arms refinished in original cad plate or in black as appropriate to the model/year of the motorcycle.

Petcock Rebuild
We rebuild your petcocks to look this beautiful.
We rebuild Everbest petcocks. They cost $65 a piece on an exchange basis with a rebuildable core. The core must be unmarked and in good shape. To purchase one outright, without a core, the cost is $100.
We use the finest grain cork available, as coarser grain leads to leakage in about 6 months.
If you have a Karcoma petcock and wish to upgrade to an original style petcock, we sell our rebuilt Everbest for $100 plus shipping.

It is a common occurrence for the end of the gas filtering screen to be frozen into the body of the Everbest Petcock. When rebuilding, the filter is destroyed. For the amateur, the solution is to reassemble without any screen at all, which is less than adequate.
We always rebuild with a functional screen. Your gasoline can have dirt in it, and scale from the inside of your gas tank. The scale is iron oxides which are extremely abrasive. Having a functional screen ensures that your carburetors and top end are protected from this dangerous debris.
