Race Dreams
So around here information is disseminated on a need to know basis. Usually I do not fall into that category. That is why I first found out about the 2012 racing plans simply by eavesdropping. It is not hard to do around here, I just hover in a doorway and listen to Kevin and which ever creative friend he is gabbing to, like Bruce, Dean, Dave1, Dave2, Uncle Phred, Rob, etc. So what I heard so far went something like this: "What is faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound? What is like a greased streak of lightening? What, you ask? Why, an R25 single cylinder BMW sidecar rig!" So now I know the plan. They are taking a tiny weasel of a motorcycle, strapping a sidecar and faring on it, and racing the little sucker at Bonneville. Now you would not think that such a tiny, insignificant like dustmite of a creature would grab the fancy and attention of a collection of powerful, strapping men (unless you were Uncle Phred, he TOTALLY understands...) but it has. And now every time I turn around I hearvexcited snippets of conversations about motor innards, streamlining fairings, lightening wheels, etc. So my promise to you all is to eavesdrop as best I can, and keep you in the loop as this project carries forth to the grand culmination of racing at August 2012 Speedweek, Bonneville!
